Game Five for Rebels, Brandon on Friday

  The Brandon Wheat Kings will look to advance to the Western Hockey League Final for the eighth time in franchise history Friday night when they host the Red Deer Rebels (7:38 p.m., Westman Communications Group Place).

  The Wheat Kings hold a 3-1 lead over the Rebels in the Eastern Conference Final, and can move on with an seventh straight home-ice win Friday night.

  Brandon has been nearly unbeatable on home-ice in the second half of the WHL season, going 22-and-4 in 26 home games since the Christmas break including a 6-and-2 mark in the post-season.

  The Wheat Kings have had a lot of success in series-clinching games in recent history.

  The club has gone 13-and-0 when having a chance to close out a series since losing Game Six of the Eastern Conference Final in Prince Albert in 2005.

  Brandon is being led in this series by the line of Tim McGauley, John Quenneville and Reid Duke.

  The trio has combined for seven goals and 18 points, with Quenneville scoring a series-high five goals himself.

  Quenneville is tied for fourth all-time in playoff scoring in Wheat Kings' team history, scoring 27 goals and 54 points in 43 career games.
