NHL CSS Releases Midterm Rankings

Kale Clague
The NHL Central Scouting Service released its midterm rankings for the 2016 NHL Draft on Tuesday.

Wheat Kings' defenceman Kale Clague was ranked 22nd among North American skaters which likely equate to about mid-to-late second round potential.

Clague was rated an 'A' prospect or one with first round potential in the preliminary rankings in November.

"It's just all hype right now and doesn't really mean much to me," said Clague after Tuesday's practice, "Try to keep playing hockey and see what happens in June.  That's the final rankings so I just want to play my game and, hopefully, keep climbing."

Clague has two goals and 16 points along with a +8 rating in 44 games so far this season but has been coming on lately, registering eight points in the last 13 games.

"I didn't have a great start to the season," added Clague, "I'm really starting to find my game and I think this last push towards the end of the season, our playoff push, I just want to play good hockey and see what happens."

Brandon forward Tanner Kaspick, who's currently sidelined with an upper body injury, was 76th among North American skaters.

He had ten goals and 17 points in 35 games before being injured in Brandon's last game before Christmas on December 18th.

Brandon product Jordy Stallard of the WHL's Calgary Hitmen was ranked 84th while Wheat Kings' 2013 draft picks Ryan Lindgren and Joey Anderson were #51 and #52 respectively.
