Wheat Kings Release Lisoway, Place McGauley on IR

Quintin Lisoway was released by the Wheat Kings Thursday
The Brandon Wheat Kings made a pair of roster moves today to comply with the WHL’s 20-year old limit, released forward Quintin Lisoway and placing forward Tim McGauley on injured reserve.

Lisoway was in his third full season with the Wheat Kings but had yet to suit up for a regular season games this year.

“We are proud to have had Quintin as a member of our organization,” said Brandon GM/Coach Kelly McCrimmon in a release, “The ultimate warrior and competitor he had tremendous respect from his teammates and helped every player get better.”

Lisoway went unselected in Thursday's WHL 20-year old waiver draft and is now expected to join the MJHL’s Steinbach Pistons.
“During his time here, he has earned four years of education through the Wheat Kings scholarship which he will take advantage of beginning next year,” McCrimmon added, “We wish him the best with his next opportunity.”
McGauley is out of the Wheat Kings’ lineup after suffering a shoulder injury during the club’s season opener on September 25th and is expected to be sidelined until at least early-to-mid November.
Placing him on IR allows the Wheat Kings to maintain Rihards Bukarts, Colton Waltz and Macoy Erkamps as 20-year olds on their active roster until he returns to the lineup.
Once that happens , the Wheat Kings will have two additional weeks to reduce their roster to the maximum of three 20-year old players.
