Wheat Kings Vetting Coaching Candidates?

Could Ryan McGill be the Wheat Kings'
fourth head coach in the last five years?
Speculation continues on the future of Brandon Wheat Kings' GM/Coach Kelly McCrimmon.

TSN's Darren Dreger appeared on a Winnipeg-based sports talk station (TSN 1290) Wednesday and reported that McCrimmon had spoken with at least one potential coaching candidate to replace him behind the Wheat Kings' bench.

According to Dreger, that person was former Kootenay Ice bench boss Ryan McGill.

Dreger also said the role McCrimmon has been offered with the Toronto Maple Leafs would allow him to continue to be based in Brandon, and he would operate at the same level as current Director of Player Personnel Mark Hunter and Assistant GM Kyle Dubas under Leafs' president Brendan Shanahan.

Dreger added a decision on whether McCrimmon will accept the role with the Maple Leafs is expected soon.
