players during practice on Thursday
The club hosts the Regina Pats to open the Best-of-Seven Eastern Conference semifinal series (7:30 p.m., Westman Communications Group Place).
"We've had a real good week and we're right where we want to be in terms of being ready to get started," said Brandon GM/Coach Kelly McCrimmon on Thursday, "I think both teams are real anxious to get started."
The Wheat Kings and Pats have both been idle since last Wednesday, when the Pats completed a four-game sweep of Swift Current in their first round series and Brandon finished a five-game victory over Edmonton in their
"Each series takes a big toll on you mentally," said Brandon netminder Jordan Papirny, "For myself, it was just important to recharge the batteries and enjoy some time with the team and enjoy Easter but now our focus in on Game One."

The second-year Wheat King has already established himself as a top performer when it comes to the playoffs.
"These games are obviously a lot more special," said Papirny, "There's a lot on the line and, for me, it's just sticking with my routine every game day and giving the boys a chance to win every night and I think that's really benefiting me."
Brandon took five of eight regular season meetings with Regina this season including the three against the Pats since the trade deadline on January 10th but those past results can be thrown out the window as the club's prepare to meet in the post-season for the second straight year.
For his part, Wheat Kings' GM/Coach Kelly McCrimmon is expecting a fast-paced series.
"The speed of their players but also the way they play makes for a very fast game," said McCrimmon, "So that's, probably, going to be the biggest different when I compare Regina to Edmonton."
|Nolan Patrick was back at practice for Brandon|
The former Pat missed the final two games of the Wheat Kings' first round series with a undisclosed injury and did not participate in practice all week.
Rookie forward Nolan Patrick did practice Thursday after being absent for a couple of days and is expected to be in the lineup for Game #1 on Friday.
