WHL Concludes AGM

The Western Hockey League will be expanding its video review system for next season.

Officials will now be able to check and see when a goal may have been scored as a result of a hand pass or high stick in the offensive zone.
The moves comes after Swift Current lost a crucial playoff game this spring in overtime on a Calgary goal that was scored after a hand pass that was missed by the on-ice officials.

Meanwhile, the WHL also announced after its AGM concluded Wednesday that concussions were down 20 per cent last season as compared to 2011-2012.
We'll have to take the league's word for it since teams don't actually reveal their injuries to the media or the public.

The WHL has also gone to computer-assisted scheduling, with the league's pre-season schedule to be announced June 25th and the regular season schedule unveiled June 26th.
The regular season is expected to begin September 19th.
