Main Camp Concludes; Intrasquad Game Left

The stage has been set for the 2012 Brandon Wheat Kings Canad Inns Intrasquad Game Sunday afternoon at Westman Communications Group Place.

Following a number of cuts earlier today, the final scrimmage of Main Camp was played Saturday night with Team White scoring a 5-3 victory over Team Black.

Veteran Tyrel Seaman and rookie Jordan Bochinksi scored a goal and added an assist to pace the winners, who built up a 4-0 lead en route to the win.

John Quenneville, Dallas Starodub and former Everett Silvertip draft pick Geordie Maguire rounded out the scoring for the Whites, who were outshot 32-31.

Rookie left-winger Liam Gregor scored once and set up another in a losing cause for the Black Team with singles coming off the sticks of veteran Jason Swyripa and 17-year old Jack Palmer.

Veteran Curtis Honey and Jordan Papirny combined to stop 29 of 32 shots while Corbin Boes and Nolan Bray made 26 saves on the night.

Boes, who finished third in the Western Hockey League with a .916 save percentage in 2011-12, has been solid through the first two days of Main Camp. In Saturday night's game, he turned aside fifteen of the 16 shots that he faced after coming in midway through the game.

The 5-day Camp will conclude Sunday afternoon with the annual Intrasquad Game, scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Admission to the game will be $3 for adults and $1 for youth. Lineups for both teams will be posted online late Sunday morning.
