- The Wheat Kings dress 11 forwards and seven defencemen for tonight's contest. Brandon HC Dwayne Gylywoychuk told me before the game that they wanted to find a way to get Waltz into the lineup tonight, and felt this was the best alternative.

- Scratches for Brandon tonight are F Geordie Maguire (lower body), F Jayce Hawryluk (concussion), F Kord Pankewicz (healthy), F Quintin Lisoway (healthy) and D Riley Van Horne (healthy).

- Brandon has started the season with straight wins just once in the last seven years, and that was at the beginning of the 2010-2011 season. They team won four in a row to start the season that year and then lost nine straight.

- The Wheat Kings went 3-5-0-0 vs. the Blades in 2011-2012 with Brenden Walker leading Brandon with five goals and 11 points in those eight contest. Walker was, of course, traded to Saskatoon by the Wheat Kings on May 3rd and makes his first return to Brandon since that deal tonight.
