Ferland Case Put Over Two Weeks

Former Brandon Wheat King and Brandon product Michael Ferland has had his aggravated assault case put over for two weeks.

The 20-year-old Ferland, who was drafted by Calgary in 2010, didn't appear in court in Cochrane, Alberta on Tuesday but his lawyer, Michael Bates, requested the matter be adjourned to September 18th.

On July 29, RCMP were called to a disturbance outside a bar and found a man had been pushed to the ground.
Police say a man who tried to help the man on the ground was hit in the face and knocked unconscious.

Ferland is charged with aggravated assault and assault, but has denied any wrongdoing.
