- Brandon is looking to advance to the second round of the Western Hockey League playoffs with a victory tonight. The Wheat Kings have gone at least two rounds deep in the post-season in seven of the last ten years.

- the Wheat Kings are 9-3 in the last ten years in games where they've had a chance to eliminate an opponent from the playoffs. The losses were Game #6 vs Prince Albert in 2005 Eastern Conference Final (they won Game #7), Game #5 vs Prince Albert in 2003 Eastern Conference Quarter-Final (won series 4-2) and Game #6 vs Moose Jaw in 2002 Eastern Conference Semifinal (they won Game #7).

- Calgary goes back to Brandon Glover in goal tonight. Glover's 1.37 goals against average and .947 save percentage are the best in those two categories in the WHL playoffs.  Brandon's Corbin Boes has a 2.00 GAA (4th) and .942 SPCT (3rd) so far in the series.

- With the suspensions handed out by the WHL today, the Brandon/Calgary series is one of two in the first round without any discipline from the league office. The Spokane/Vancouver Western Conference Quarter-Final is the other.
