Stone Talks Season, Playoffs and Hitmen on MST

Brandon Wheat Kings' captain Mark Stone had one of the finest seasons in recent club history.

Stone's 123 points this season are the most for a Wheat King since Peter Schaefer registered the same total in 1996-97.

The Winnipeg product is the first player to have back-to-back 100 point campaigns since Schaefer in '95-96 and '96-97 while he also starred with Canada and won a bronze medal at the World Junior Hockey Championship.

Oh yeah, did I mention he played an NHL pre-season game and signed his first NHL contract last September?

Yes, 2011-2012 has been very kind to Mark Stone so far, and now he's looking for even more as the Western Hockey League playoffs approach.

Stone guested with Tyler Crayston and myself on CKLQ's Monday Sports Talk last night and talked about his season, Brandon's first round playoff opponents in the Calgary Hitmen and about playing at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg.
