Ferland 'Ready to Go' This Weekend

It looks like Michael Ferland will be in the Brandon Wheat Kings lineup Friday night when they host the Swift Current Broncos (7:30 p.m., Westman Communications Group Place).

Ferland left Brandon's game Tuesday against the Kootenay Ice with a suspected head injury but practiced without restrictions on Thursday.

"I feel great," said Ferland, "I wasn't feeling too good during Tuesday's game but I'm feeling 100 per cent and ready to go this weekend."

Ferland is second on the team and ninth in the WHL in scoring with 40 goals and 83 points in 58 games.

The news was also positive for a couple of other injured Wheat Kings.

Kevin Sundher and Tyrel Seaman both skated before practice Thursday as they try to make their way back from concussions.

Sundher has missed the last four games while Seaman has missed the last 25 contests and 34 of the last 35 games.

Jason Swyripa (leg) did not practice Thursday and it appears he'll sit for the third straight game and fourth time in the last five.
