- Brandon scratches F Mark Stone (Cdn Jr. Team), F Michael Ferland (Cdn Jr. Team), F Tyrel Seaman (suspected concussion) and G Corbin Boes (hand).

- D Brodie Melnychuk plays his 280th career game today, moving him past Eric Fehr and into 11th-place on the Wheat Kings' all-time list. Next up on the list is Kelly Smart at 286.

- The Wheat Kings will be out to reverse a trend that has seen them surrender the first goal of the game in 11 of their last 13 games, and 19 of 33 games this season. Statistically, the first period has been Brandon's worst, being outscored 48-43 and outshot 390-360 in first periods this season.

- The Hitmen have recovering from a 6-8-0-1 start to the season to go 10-5-0-1 in their last 16 games. Calgary is 8-1-1-0 in their last 10 games versus East Division opponents including a 5-4 shootout victory over Prince Albert on Friday night.

- Calgary captain Cody Sylvester has eight goals and 20 points in the last 14 games while Carolina draft pick Victor Rask has a team-high 15 goals. Rask will play for Sweden at the 2012 World Junior Hockey Championship.

- Brandon product Brocks Sutherland is still looking for the first goal of his Hitmen career. The 20-year old Sutherland has four assists and is +8 in 27 games with Calgary since being acquired from Tri-City on October 7th.
