Three Games for Eberle for Hit on Pulock

The Western Hockey League has suspended Moose Jaw forward Tanner Eberle for three games for the checking-from-behind major he received in Sunday's game against the Brandon Wheat Kings.

The hit knocked Brandon defenceman Ryan Pulock out of Sunday's game and left the Grandview product with a suspected neck injury.

Pulock is not expected to play in Tuesday night's contest when the Wheat Kings host the Calgary Hitmen.

Ryley Miller (upper body) and Dominick Favreau (lower body) are also doubtful to play tonight.

By the way, there have now been 42 suspensions in the WHL this season for a total of 123 games.

Wheat Kings' prospect Jack Palmer is on a roll in the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League.

Palmer, who plays with the Saanich Braves, was the VIJHL Player of the Week last week with five goals and six points in two victories.

The 16-year old Palmer added another hat-trick to his season total Friday night, and now has nine goals and 11 points in his last four games.

For the season, Palmer has 12 goals and 24 points in 15 games.

The fall edition, and first edition, of the WHL's Alumni Association newsletter is now available for download.

The edition includes a feature on former Regina Pat and NHL goaltender Ed Staniowski, who is now lieutenant colonel in the armed forces and has been to Afghanistan four times.
