Monday's Notebook

- Brandon Wheat Kings' captain Mark Stone has been named the Western Hockey League's Player of the Week.  Stone had four goals and five assists for nine points in three games last week while also registering a plus-three rating.  Stone currently leads the WHL in scoring with five goals and 13 points in five games.

- Brandon Wheat Kings' head coach Cory Clouston joined me this morning for our usual weekly chat. You can listen to Coaches' Corner through the CKLQ website.

- The Wheat Kings will be spending the afternoon at CFB Shilo today, according to a release from the club:

The Second Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (2 PPCLI) will host the Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings for a day of soldiering experience on Monday, October 3rd, 2011.

Coaching staff and players will have the opportunity to try a variety of military activities to help develop team camaraderie and to learn more about their neighbours.

- The Toronto Maple Leafs sent former Wheat Kings' captain Keith Aulie to the AHL's Toronto Marlies on Monday morning.

- Former Wheat King Ryan Reaves has cracked the opening day roster for the NHL's St. Louis Blues.

- Former Wheat King Alexander Urbom was sent to Albany (AHL) by the New Jersey Devils, according the Star-Ledger.  Meanwhile, Brandon product Bryce Salvador was back at practice Monday after missing a couple of days with a lower body injury.
- Winnipeg Jets' General Manager and former Wheat King Kevin Cheveldayoff will guest on CKLQ's Monday Sports Talk tonight. We're looking for your questions for Kevin. You post on our Facebook page or tweet them to us using our @cklqsports tag.
