Wheat Kings Trim Roster by Three

Taylor Cooper was one of three players
re-assigned by Brandon on Tuesday
The Brandon Wheat Kings have trimmed their roster to 24 ON Tuesday by re-assigning three 16-year old players in forwards Tim McGauley and Taylor Cooper and defenceman Colton Waltz.

McGauley, who was acquired as part of the Brayden Schenn trade with Saskatoon last January, went pointless in the first two games of the regular season while Cooper and Waltz did not see any action on opening weekend.

In the pre-season, McGauley was pointless in four contests while Cooper had one assist in four games and Waltz had two assists in three contests.

After spending last year with the Regina Pat Canadians, McGauley is headed to Notre Dame of the Saskatchewan AAA Midget Hockey League this season.

Cooper will join the Sherwood Park Kings of the AMHL while Waltz is headed to Bonnyville to play for the Alberta Junior Hockey League's Pontiacs.

Tuesday's moves leave Brandon with two goaltenders, nine defencemen and 13 forwards on their roster.

The Wheat Kings return to action Wednesday when they visit the Swift Current Broncos.
