Wheat Kings' Full Schedule Release Delayed

Brandon Wheat Kings' fans will have to wait another eight days before finding out the club's 2011-2012 schedule.

In past years, clubs were allowed to release their tentative schedules following the Eastern Conference scheduling meeting, which was held yesterday in Regina.

This year, Western Hockey League will not allow teams to release their schedules until the entire WHL schedule is completed and released.

That's expected to happen on Wednesday of next week (June 29).

However, I've learned the Wheat Kings will open on the road and play the first regular season game in the new Moose Jaw Mutli-Plex on Thursday, September 22nd.

Brandon's home opener is expected to be the following night, Friday, September 23rd.

The Wheat Kings' schedule will also include their biennial trip to the United States Division in late October.
