Jago is Unheralded Blueline Prospect

Tanner Jago -- Under the Radar?
The Brandon Wheat Kings seems to have a plethora of defensive prospects including Brandon product Tanner Jago.

A ninth round pick in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft, Jago has flown a little under the radar as compared to higher profile prospects like Dylan Kuczek, Aryton Nikkel and Colton Waltz.

"I don't mind being under the radar, ya'know," says the 6-foot-0, 170 pound Jago, "It puts a little more pressure on those guys and then I can pop out and show people what I got."

The Prospects Camp does provide players the chance to get to know one another in addition to the Wheat Kings' organization.

Inevitable, though, it also gives players a chance to gauge themselves against other players whom they may have to eventually compete against for a roster.

"You see what you have to go up against and you compare yourself to them, there's a lot of that," says Jago, "You just have to go out and play your game and things will go well."

Jago notched eight goals and 29 points in 36 games with the Brandon AAA Midget Wheat Kings this past season, earning an invitation to play in the league's all-star game in the process.
