WHL Reveals Top Prospects for 2011 Bantam Draft

Stumbled upon this earlier today, and thought I would pass it along.

Checking out the Prospects Section on the WHL website ( and there, listed alphabetically, were the Top 25 Prospects for the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft.

Of note for Manitoba hockey fans, the only Manitoban on the top 25 was 5-foot-10, 160 pound defenceman Jordan Thomson.

Granted exceptional status for Hockey Manitoba prior to the 2010-2011 season, the Wawanesa product played as a 14-year old with the Southwest Cougars of the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League, scoring two goals and 16 points in 38 regular season games and adding one goal and four points in 11 playoff contests.

Thomson is one of about 140 players taking part in Hockey Manitoba U16 Program of Excellence (POE) camp in Winnipeg this weekend.
