Game Day Nuggets - Game #5

The Brandon Wheat Kings and Medicine Hat Tigers both held game-day skates today in preparation for Game #5 tonight at the Medicine Hat Arena.

After an optional practice yesterday, the Tigers had a full team skate today including goaltender Tyler Bunz, who's been sidelined since Game #1 with a concussion.

Bunz's status for Game #5 isn't known although I would think it'd be unlikely he'd start but it's not out of the realm of possibility he'd back up Deven Dubyk.

Meanwhile, the Tigers get Hunter Shinkaruk back after serving his one-game suspension.

That'll make for a bit of a decision for the Medicine Hat coaching staff because the top two lines of Etem-Vey-Kessy and Grbavac-Hamilton-Tochkin were both pretty good in Game #4 on Thursday.

Wouldn't surprise me if Shinkaruk is back with Hamilton and Tochkin and Grbavac back on a third 'physical' line with Reid Petryk and Scott McKay.

Meanwhile, Brandon had an optional skate with only seven players taking part, none of them goaltenders.

Corbin Boes was the only Wheat Kings' netminder to practice yesterday but I've heard 19-year old affiliate player Michael Tadjdeh will be in Medicine Hat to back up Boes for Game #5 tonight.

Liam Liston (concussion) and Brenden Walker (concussion) are both out of the lineup again tonight for Brandon and, according to a Wheat Kings' release earlier today, Walker may not be back for the balance of the series.

Faceoff time tonight for Game #5 is 8:30 p.m. (CDT) with the pre-game show 880 CKLQ starting at 8 p.m. (CDT).
