Game #6 - Game Day Nuggets

The Brandon Wheat Kings and Medicine Hat Tigers both went through full game-day skates today at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg in preparation for Game #6 of their Eastern Conference Quarter-Final tonight.

Of note for Brandon, neither G Liam Liston (concussion) or F Brenden Walker (concussion) were on the ice, meaning they will likely miss the rest of the series, regardless of whether the Wheat Kings push it to Game #7 Wednesday or not.

The good news for Brandon was D Ryley Miller, who missed Game #5 on Saturday, was on the ice today and should return to the Wheat Kings' lineup tonight.

G Michael Tadjdeh was on the ice with the Wheat Kings this morning and will backup presumed starter Corbin Boes.

The Wheat Kings also looked to be going back to their line combination from Game #4, putting Toews back with Glennie and Ferland and Stone back with MacKay and Wiebe.

For Medicine Hat, goaltender Tyler Bunz (concussion) was on the ice again this morning but word through the playoff grapevine is that he won't play in this series.

Tigers are riding high after back-to-back wins, having scored 12 goals in the last four periods. Linden Vey (3 G, 4 A) and Emerson Etem (3 G, 3 A) have combined for 13 points in the last two games after being held to a combined three points (2 G, 1 A) in the first three contests.

I interviewed Medicine Hat GM Brad McEwen this morning, and we talked about different things including concussions and how tough it is for the guys upstairs to watch playoff hockey. I'll have that on my pre-game show tonight.

Game time at the MTS Centre is 7:30 p.m. My broadcast on 880, CKLQ begins with the pre-game show at 7 p.m.
