WHL Draft Lottery - Wheat Kings' Draft Update

The balls will drop on the Western Hockey League draft lottery on Wednesday.

The six non-playoff teams that will participate in the lottery, which will determine the order of the first six picks in the 1st round of the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft.

There will be a total of 21 balls used in the lottery and the allotment of balls will be as follows:

· Calgary Hitmen – Six Balls
· Swift Current Broncos – Five Balls
· Regina Pats – Four Balls
· Lethbridge Hurricanes – Three Balls
· Seattle Thunderbirds – Two Balls
· Kamloops Blazers – One Ball

Only one ball is drawn in the Lottery and each team can only advance a maximum of two positions in the Bantam Draft.

Meanwhile, I thought this would be a good opportunity to update where the Wheat Kings stand for the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft.

Here's a look at the picks Brandon holds,

Much like the Prospect List last week, this is what I've pieced together and would be confident in saying it pretty accurate, but it may not be 100 per cent.

The Wheat Kings will have three of the first 32 picks and eight of the first 99 selection so they should be able continue to build on what's considered to be a pretty good pool of prospects already.
