Walker Absent From Practice Wednesday

The Brandon Wheat Kings went through a one-hour practice in Winnipeg Wednesday afternoon in preparation for Game #4 of their Eastern Concerence Quarter-Final series against Medicine Hat.

Two members of the Wheat Kings were absent from practice Wednesday, with Brenden Walker sitting out after leaving Game #3 on Monday night with a head injury and Mark Stone also getting the day off with an undisclosed ailment.

Based on the club’s alignment for practice, it looks like Walker will not play in Game #4 on Thursday night while Stone will be in the lineup.

Walker’s absence will likely mean Dominick Favreau will get a chance to make his WHL playoff debut Thursday after being a healthy scratch for the first three games.

Meanwhile, David Toews was bumped up to Walker’s spot on right wing with Scott Glennie and Michael Ferland in practice today with Jens Meilleur taking Toews’ spot on a line with Paul Ciarelli and Hampus Gustafsson.

Brandon takes a 2-1 lead into Game #4 of the series Thursday night at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg.
