Schenn Earns A

Brandon Wheat Kings' centre Brayden Schenn was named an alternate captain for the Canadian Junior Team today by Hockey Canada.

Schenn is the only returning forward on Team Canada from last year's silver-medal winning team at the 2010 World Junior Hockey Championship in his hometown Saskatoon.

The 19-year old Schenn is representing Canada for the fifth time, having also played at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, the Under-18 World Championship and the Memorial of Ivan Hlinka tournament.

Defenceman Ryan Ellis (Windsor, OHL) was named captain of Team Canada, while fellow returnees Jared Cowen and Calvin de Haan are the other alternate captains.
