Klinkhammer Set for NHL Debut

Robert Klinkhammer will become the fifth former Brandon Wheat Kings to make his National Hockey League debut on Wednesday night.

The 24-year old Klinkhammer was recalled from the Chicago Blackhawks' American Hockey League affiliate in Rockford earlier today.

Klinkhammer, who spent the second half of the 2006-2007 season with the Wheat Kings after being traded to Brandon from Portland, had three goals and nine points 20 games with the IceHogs this season.

The 6-foot-3, 210 pound Klinkhammer has registered 40 goals and 49 assists in 234 regular-season games over the course of four AHL seasons with Rockford (2008-10) and the Norfolk Admirals (2007-08).

Klinkhammer, who will wear #59 with the Blackhawks, joins Alexander Urbom (New Jersey), Ryan Reaves (St. Louis), Keith Aulie (Toronto) and Travis Hamonic (NY Islanders) as former Wheat Kings who have made their NHL debuts this season.
