Canada Blank Swiss in Pre-Tournament Contest

Canada's junior hockey team got off to a hot start in preparation for the world junior tournament.

They slammed Switzerland 8-0 in a pre-tournament game Monday night in Oshawa.

The youngest player on the ice stole the show.

Sean Couturier scored once and set up three other goals in the rout while Mark Visentin made 20 saves for the shutout.

Wheat Kings' centre Brayden Schenn was held without a point last night while the two Manitobans on the team, Cody Eakin and Quinton Howden, had one assist each.

Canada plays another pre-tournament game Tuesday night against Sweden in Toronto.
