Just Notes
- Corbin Boes starts in goal for the Wheat Kings. The rookie will try to pick up his first WHL win tonight.

- Hampus Gustafsson, Mark Mieritz, Dominick Favreau and Eric Roy are Brandon's scratches tonight. They're all healthy.

- The Wheat Kings have had success in Swift Current in recent years, going 8-7-2-0 at the Credit Union I-Plex over the last five seasons.

- The Broncos, who have been beset by injuries in recent weeks, have lost three straight and five of their last seven games going into tonight.

- Former Wheat Kings' coach Bob Lowes will be my guest during the second intermission of tonight's broadcast on 880, CKLQ. Lowes is now working full-time as a scout with the NHL's Ottawa Senators.

- Kings' GM Dean Lombardi gave an update on Brayden Schenn's conditioning stint in the AHL to Helene Elliott of the LA Times today. You can check it out by clicking here. Is it just me, our does Lombardi sound like he's slagging Jr. Hockey in the piece?

- Former Wheat Kings Travis Hamonic wearing #36, and was in starting lineup for his NHL debut as the NY Islanders hosting Columbus tonight.
