Junior Hockey Concussion on the Rise

A story in the National Post discussed a study by Dr. Paul Echlin in London, Ontario on the increased rate of concussions in junior hockey.

You can read the study here...

It's a good read, and it goes back to a recent conversations about head-shots in hockey and something that I've always found rather interesting.

I wondered how the powers that be, whether it be in professional hockey or junior hockey, can continue to discuss reducing head-shots in the game and not include head shots from a closed and non-gloved fist in the discussion.

I've also found it to be a recent trend for teams to no longer report head injuries as concussions on the Weekly Injury Update.
