We're Here!!

The Brandon Wheat Kings arrived in Prince George early Tuesday morning and went through a brief workout at the CN Centre.

The Wheat Kings are slated to open their B.C. Division road trip on Wednesday night against a much-improved Prince George team that is currently 5-4-1-0 after winning just 12 times all of last season.

I'll have more later but, for now, here's some notes for you to devour:

- with Ty Rimmer traded to Prince George on Monday, the Wheat Kings' travel party includes 22 players. Michael Ferland (knee), David Toews (ankle) and Jens Meilleur (hand) did not make the trip West.

- former Wheat Kings' coach Dean Clark will be looking for his 400th career WHL victory Wednesday night. Clark coached Brandon from 2001-2003, recording 86 victories in those two seasons with the Wheat Kings.

- the Brandon Sun reported today that former Wheat Kings' G Andrew Hayes is on the verge of signing with the QMJHL's Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.

- beginning in Brandon on Monday, the Wheat Kings will travel over 5,000 kilometres during the course of their 13-day road trip that begins on Wednesday night.
