Glennie Selected to Team WHL

Team WHL for the upcoming Subway Super Series was unveiled Thursday, with centre Scott Glennie the only member of the Wheat Kings named to participate.

Glennie is off to a slow start of the regular season, notching one goal and six points in nine games so far this season while also registering a -7 rating.

The 19-year old Winnipeg product attended the Canadian Junior Team's Summer Development Camp in August and was also at the team's selection camp last December, where he was released prior to the 2010 World Junior Hockey Championship thanks in part of a concussion.

Glennie is slated to play in just one of the Super Series games, the November 18th affair in Prince George.

In addition to Glennie, five other Manitobans were chosen to take part in Oakbank's Quinton Howden (Moose Jaw), Winnipeg's Cody Eakin (Swift Current), Brendan Shinnimin (Tri-City) and Calvin Pickard (Seattle) and Winkler's Byron Froese (Red Deer).
