Brandon Duo Ink WHL Contracts

A pair of Brandon products have signed standard player agreements with Western Hockey League teams on Wednesday.

Defenceman Landon Cross (left) signed with the Kamloops Blazers while Brayden Cuthbert inked with the Moose Jaw Warriors.

Cross was a third round pick of the Blazers in the '09 Bantam Draft while Cuthbert went in the fifth round to the Warriors.

Cross had two goals and 14 points in 44 games with the AAA Midget Wheat Kings last season while Cuthbert notched 13 goals and 27 points in 42 contests.

Signing clears the way for both players to participate in pre-season games.

Cuthbert will likely see his first action Wednesday night when the Warriors host the Swift Current Broncos.

Another Brandon product, Joel Edmundson, is also expected to suit up with the Warriors.

Edmundson, 17, signed with Moose Jaw last fall.

He had 10 goals and 35 points in 44 games with the AAA Midget Wheat Kings a year ago and was a sixth round pick of the Warriors in the '08 draft.
