Road to the 2010 Memorial Cup

75 percent of the field for the 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup has been set.

The Calgary Hitmen claimed the Western Hockey League title Friday night with a 4-1 victory over the Tri-City Americans.

Michael Stone scored a pair of goals for the Hitmen while Martin Jones stopped 32 shots in the Calgary net as Calgary took the Ed Chynoweth Cup by beating the Americans four games to one.

Misha Fisenko and Tyler Fiddler also scored for Calgary while Adam Hughesman scored the lone goal for the Americans.

15,335 fans helped the Hitmen celebrate their first WHL title since 1999 and a trip to Brandon next week for the Memorial Cup.

Calgary goaltender Martin Jones was named the WHL Championship Series MVP.


The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Final will be continuing until at least Monday.

Nicholas Petersen scored 12:43 into overtime as the Saint John Sea Dogs defeated the Moncton Wildcats 3-2 Friday night to even the QMJHL at two games apiece.

Game #5 is Saturday night in Saint John with Game #6 in Moncton on Monday.
