Calvert Inks NHL Deal

For the second time this month, a member of the Brandon Wheat Kings has inked his first professional contract.

Left-winger Matt Calvert has agreed to a three-year, entry level contract with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Calvert was a fifth round pick of the Jackets in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft and had turned down a contract offer from Columbus last fall in order to return to the Wheat Kings for a third season.

The 20-year old finished tied for fourth in scoring in the WHL this season with 99 points including 47 goals.
